KATJA TOPORSKI

Narrative / USA

The pieces in this series are composed of cast or fabricated copies of a single form: a small apothecary glass flask. Coming from a family of pharmacists, I have a collection of those, handed down to me from a variety of retired chemists and lab workers.

Curious of what substances they may once have held, I imagine their future: one of technological perfection, angulated, smooth and mirrored. Included in some lies another version, this one cast from gelatin and left to dry, its surface wrinkled like ancient skin.
